Hello. I’m Cape of Good Wine. I used to call myself an ageing winelover who started an instagram account to document the wines I've enjoyed for my future senile alcoholic self to remember.
I am a graphic designer by day, co-founder of Kunye, The Wine Wise - a wine education non profit whose aim is to make wine more diverse and accessible in South Africa, and WSET Diploma graduate.

For me, it’s all about the story of the wine.
I could happily sit back and look at an unopened bottle of wine...ponder its beginnings - from the vineyards where the grapes were grown, to the winemaking techniques used to coax the grapes into the wine they’ve become, to the story of why the wine was made to begin with. I revel in anticipating its contents...what those vines and vinification could result in. And ultimately, have that bottle of wine become part of my own story.
I'm a graphic designer by day - telling stories through visual communication is what I do. Show me a beautiful wine label and my magpie head will turn. Show me a beautifully designed wine label that represents the wine inside and I will be impressed. I now have enough knowledge to listen to you tell me the story about how the wine inside was made - from vineyard, to winery, to cellar....and this is the most impressive story to tell.
I'd like to think that I might one day add value to the SA wine industry. For now I'm happy to be a consumer who raves about my favourite wines, voices some of my thoughts about the wine industry, and shares what I've learned about wine over the last few years.
