Andreas Shiraz 2015

Finally! I have no idea why it’s taken me so long to fangirl over this wine. Am I allowed to leave this at just yummy yum yum? No? Okay then, fine...here goes...

Deep ruby in colour with a pronounced nose of plums, prunes, dark cherries, violets, eucalyptus, black pepper and cedar.

The nose is (plums, prunes, dark cherries, violets, eucalyptus, black pepper and cedar) repeated on the palate with the addition of cocoa and coffee. Full bodied, good acidity, medium plus tannins that are so satisfying as I type this.

A deliciously long luscious finish. Yum yum yum!

Conclusion

Balance (1) + Length (1) + Intensity (1) + Complexity (1)  = An outstanding wine based on the BLIC, but I’d realistically move this down to a very good wine.

Drink now but has the potential for further ageing.

Viti + Vini:

Handpicked, 18 months in French oak (tastes like majority, if not all new oak), with a further 12 to 18 months of bottle ageing

Final thoughts:

I need to invest in a case (or two) already! Nuff said!
